Meet Littleworks

A little backend for what you’re building on Shopify.

Give your agent the backend it needs to build on Shopify. Littleworks is a ready-made Shopify app for the backend of your store’s features: your agent writes plain JavaScript works that save data, call Shopify and other services, run on Shopify events and schedules, and power native admin pages. You approve access and manage the results inside Shopify admin.

Everything a custom app would make you build and run is already handled: the OAuth install, hosting and the database, webhook verification and retries, Shopify’s privacy requests, rate limiting, versions and rollback, and the embedded admin UI. Compare it with building your own app.

How it fits into what you’re building

  1. You and your agent are building something for your store.
  2. Your agent identifies a piece that needs a backend: storing a submission, checking Shopify data, or serving a small JSON endpoint.
  3. You connect Littleworks and approve the agent’s access in Shopify.
  4. Your agent builds and tests that piece, then keeps building with you.

Every work starts as a draft. Your agent tests it, and it serves customers and staff once it is published. In Shopify admin, Works shows deployed code and its status, Views opens the custom screens your agent builds, Data shows stored records, Runs shows execution history, and Agent access manages connections.

When to use Littleworks

Use Littleworks when what you’re building needs a small, persistent backend component. For example, a storefront form can call a work that validates input and stores a document. The form itself still lives in your theme or another frontend.

Works answer your theme or another frontend with JSON, and can also run on their own: on Shopify events, on a schedule, or from Shopify Flow. Your theme renders the storefront UI and Littleworks powers it; for staff, views render native admin pages.

Connect when you’re ready

Explore recipes for product reviews, customer wishlists, quote requests, back-in-stock alerts, and transactional email. Each includes a starting prompt, storage choices, and an implementation outline for your agent.

Connect your agent. If you are the agent, start with the agent guide, then read the connected store’s get_context response before writing code.
